Wake Me Up

Wake me up when it's over,
Wake me up when it's done,
When he's gone away and taken everything,
Wake me up.

Wake me up when the skies are clearing,
When the water is still,
'cause I will not watch the ships sail away so,
Please say you will.

If it were any other day,
This wouldn't get the best of me.

But today I'm not so strong,
So lay me down with a sad song,
And when it stops then you know I've been,
Gone too long.

But don't shake me awake,
Don't bend me or I will break,
Come find me somewhere between my dreams,
With the sun on my face.

I will still feel it later on,
But for now I'd rather be asleep.

[norah jones]

it's a sad song but it makes me happy. perhaps because i'm glad i can't relate to it except for the part about being an escapist. doms, jo, thanks for the addition to my mp3 collection. benj, thank you for continuing to make me smile. ^_^

pirate song

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
And we pray that our unity will one day be restored
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yeah they'll know we are Christians by our love

We will work with each other, we will work side by side
We will work with each other, we will work side by side
And we'll guard each man's dignity and save each man's pride
And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love
Yeah, they'll know we are Christians by our love

[Jars of Clay]

the highlighted line is the title.

i was listening to this song earlier and i wondered why i didn't notice the creativity behind the song before. it's sung the way pirates sing. so what makes it so significant? pirates sing together to synchronize their rowing. in the same way, the universal body of Christ should work as one and advance His kingdom.

^_^

You

There's always something
In the way
There's always something
Getting through
But it's not me
it's You

Sometimes ignorance
Rings true
But hope is not in
What I know
Not in me
It's in You

It's all I know

And I find peace
When I'm confused
I find hope when
I'm let down
Not in me
But in You

I hope to lose myself
For good
I hope to find it in the end
Not in me
In You

It's all I know

[Switchfoot]

this song pretty much sums up my life.

summoned from bed

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of Jesus Christ the risen one.

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of Jesus Christ the saving one.

And we can see that God You're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play
Let the streets resound with singing
Songs that bring your hope
Songs that bring your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice.

Do you feel the darkness tremble?
When all the saints join in one song.
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness.

And here we see that God you're moving.
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates.
Prepare the way of the risen Lord.

[Delirious, Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?]

*********

something tells me to post something about these songs. and this is it.

i first heard the first song at the navigators' rooftop. i remember a guitar, a compilation of lyrics and chords, and a music player. i also remember encountering jars of clay on the same night (or day).

*********

In open fields of wild flowers,
She breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the roses
In no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all

He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
And fall in his arms and the tears will fall down and she'll pray,

I want to fall in love with You

Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
Who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on their souls

He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
And fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll pray,

I want to fall in love with You

It seems too easy to call you Savior,
Not close enough to call you God
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
To show my devotion

I want to fall in love with You

My heart beats for You

[Jars of Clay, I Want to Fall in Love with You]

abandonment issues

i am being reminded that the Lord would never leave nor forsake me even if my disciplers, my boyfriend, my family, and my friends would (or did). after all, He did find me when i was abandoned and without a name or an identity. He calls me His child.

and people like steven curtis chapman inspire me to adopt a child of my own someday. but that doesn't mean i will run away from the pains of pregnancy. sayang ang genes! =p and the purpose of sex is ultimately to multiply, right?

                        making love = making babies

anywayz, i finally got to watch steven (close na kami!) perform live last night with joan and benj. he's absolutely talented and his music and his words really moved the crowd. i actually cried when he played the intro of when love takes you in. at least the last tears i cried for that day were filled with joy.

time is my enemy right now. and i would love to redeem it. i wish it were that easy.

Another Glitch in the Call

We don't need no indirection
We don't need no flow control
No data typing or declarations
Hey!  You!  Leave those lists alone!

Chorus:
All in all, it's just a pure-LISP function call.

We don't need no side effect-ing
We don't need no scope control
No global variables for execution
Hey!  You!  Leave those args alone!

(Chorus)

We don't need no allocation
We don't need no special nodes
No dark bit-flipping in the functions
Hey!  You!  Leave those bits alone!

(Chorus)

We don't need no compilation
We don't need no load control
No link edit for external bindings
Hey!  You!  Leave that source alone!

(Chorus, and repeat)

Hallelujahs

A purple sky to close the day
I wade the surf where dolphins play
The taste of salt, the dance of waves
And my soul wells up with hallelujahs

A lightning flash, my pounding heart
A breaching whale, a shooting star
Give testimony that you are
And my soul wells up with hallelujahs

Oh praise Him all His mighty works
There is no language where you can't be heard
Your song goes out to all the Earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

O cratered moon and sparrow's wings
O thunder's boom and Saturn's rings
Unveil our Father as you sing
And my soul wells up with hallelujahs

Oh praise Him all His mighty works
There is no language where you can't be heard
Your song goes out to all the Earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

The pulse of life within my wrist
A fallen snow, a rising mist
There is no higher praise than this
And my soul wells up
O my soul wells up
Yes my soul wells up with hallelujahs

Oh praise Him all His mighty works
There is no language where you can't be heard
Your song goes out to all the Earth
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

O hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah!

[Chris Rice]

as i was listening to this song, i remembered watching the sunset yesterday. my bestfriend and i were sitting on the grass at the sunken garden while talking about a multitude of things. we noticed the beautiful colors of the sky and how the clouds resembled mountains. and i wanted to bite into them. crazy.

it was the closing of the day. but it was no ordinary day. because i experienced so much of God's grace. this year had been busy since it started. and i was about to crack under all the pressure. but the Lord sustained me. that wednesday was particularly hectic. i praise God that we finished our lab report early so i was able to work for two or three hours and i finished the work deadlines. i also submitted my take-home exam after. that exam was supposed to have been taken the previous night during class hours, but my favorite teacher changed his mind and i got to watch an artistic war movie and eat chicken for dinner with a special friend. okay, back to yesterday. we joined the rest of the navigators and vcm people after. joan played frisbee with them while i chose to lie on the spread out black thingie and appreciate the canopy of trees in the moonlight.

i just want to praise God for His work in my life. i absolutely needed help and He didn't fail me. He has always been faithful and will continue to be so. ^_^

When Love Takes You In

by Steven Curtis Chapman

I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

I first heard this song when my mentor sang it for me during my 17th birthday celebration with the kalcf and kalbrig then. It really pierced me because it somewhat sounded like my story.

I was broken-hearted when I entered the university. I was far away from home but I felt like I didn't have one. I had no one to turn to so I returned to God. I brought the broken pieces of my life to Him for repair. He taught me the futility of trying to fill the void in my heart with something or someone other than Him. Words aren't enough to express the love and hope I found in Christ.

I listened to the song when I felt unlovely. It helped me to not lose hope that someday someone would love me. Little did I know that the song is about Steven Curtis Chapman's adoption of their daughter, Shaohannah. Learning this piece of information reminded me that upon receiving Christ as my Lord and Savior, I was given the right to become a child of God. That also means all the other believers are my family. Serving them has been a blessing. Soon, I shall be leaving the Dormitories Christian Fellowship, looking forward to the day we'll be reunited for eternity.

|Big Enough

None of us knows and that makes it a mystery
If life is a comedy, then why all the tragedy
Three-and-a-half pounds of brain try to figure out
What this world is all about
And is there an eternity, is there an eternity?

God if You’re there I wish You’d show me
And God if You care then I need You to know me
I hope You don’t mind me askin’ the questions
But I figure You’re big enough
                    I figure You’re big enough

Lying on pillows we’re haunted and half-awake
Does anyone hear us pray, "If I die before I wake"
Then the morning comes and the mirror’s the other place
Where we wrestle face to face with the image of Deity
                    The image of Deity

God if You’re there I wish You’d show me
And God if You care then I need You to know me
I hope You don’t mind me askin’ the questions
But I figure You’re big enough
                    I figure You’re big enough

When I imagine the size of the universe
And I wonder what’s out past the edges
Then I discover inside me a space as big
And believe that I’m meant to be
Filled up with more than just questions

So, God if You’re there I wish You’d show me
And God if You care then I need You to know me
I hope You don’t mind me askin’ the questions
But I figure You’re big enough
                    I figure You’re big enough
‘cause I am not big enough

Slow Dancing in a Burning Room

It's not a silly little moment,
It's not the storm before the calm.
This is the deep and dying breath of,
This love that we've been working on.

Can't seem to hold you like I want to,
So I can feel you in my arms.
Nobody's gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms.

We're going down and you can see it too.
We're going down and you know that we're doomed.
My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room.

I was the one you always dreamed of,
You were the one I tried to draw.
How dare you say it's nothing to me,
Baby you're the only light I ever saw.

I'll make the most of all the sadness.
You'll be a ... because you can.
You'll try to hit me just to hurt me,
So you leave me feeling dirty 'cause you can't understand.

We're going down
And you can see it too
We're going down
And you know that we're doomed.

My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room.

Go cry about it
why don't you?

My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room.

Don't you think we ought to know by now?
Don't you think we should've learned somehow?

[John Mayer]

i still can't get over my john mayer addiction, thanks to doms for introducing me to the latest album.  he says it's about a relationship with nowhere to go.  like a dead end.  i think i've been in one or two before.  slow dancing in a burning room.  intimacy without the responsibility or commitment.  what does it take to learn from your mistakes?

Faith Enough

[Jars of Clay]

The ice is thin enough for walkin'
The rope is worn enough to climb
My throat is dry enough for talkin'
The world is crumblin' but I know why
The world is crumblin' but I know why

The storm is wild enough for sailing
The bridge is weak enough to cross
This body frail enough for fighting
I'm home enough to know I'm lost
Home enough to know I'm lost

It's just enough to be strong
In the broken places, in the broken places

It's just enough to be strong
Should the world rely on faith tonight

The land unfit enough for planting
Barren enough to conceive
Poor enough to gain the treasure
Enough a cynic to believe
Enough a cynic to believe

Confused enough to know direction
The sun eclipsed enough to shine
Be still enough to finally tremble

And see enough to know I'm blind
And see enough to know I'm blind

Should the world rely on faith tonight

With Every Breath

Hallelujah from the heavens
Hallelujah in the heights above the earth
Hallelujah all His angels
Hallelujah for the last will be first
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord

Hallelujah in the morning
Hallelujah for the beauty of His scars
Hallelujah in the twilight
Hallelujah sun and moon and shining stars
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord

When the night seems so long (throw your hands to the sky)
You can sing a new song (wipe the tears from your eyes)
When you're weak, He is strong
He can heal your wounded soul
And calm the storm inside

For all your times of laughter
In every hopeful prayer
When the world weighs on your shoulders
Through sorrow and your despair
With everything, with every breath, praise the Lord
Let everything, let every breath praise the Lord
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord

When the night seems so long (throw your hands to the sky)
You can sing a new song (wipe the tears from your eyes)
When you're weak, He is strong
He can heal your wounded soul
And calm the storm inside

[Sixpence None the Richer]

the only storm that raged today was within
time and again, i drowned in unshed tears
with my clenched fists
but He is bigger, much bigger than my fears
and His rainshowers of mercy
washed away the weariness
of this restless soul
so from these lips
the words of praise flow

Blackbird

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arive
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night.

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of a dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

[The Beatles]

we celebrated dominic's birthday two days early at his house today. one thing i love about going to their house is the music. when i was in charge of the playlist, i played the soundtrack of i am sam, most if not all of which are (covers of) beatles songs, and some jazz songs. the food was also superb. thanks, drei! dominic finally made me coffee. yey! i added ice and ice cream to it. the ice cream container was empty by the time i finished my coffee. ^_~

i am so thankful for how dominic touched my life. everything from the machine problems to the oz moments. i don't think i would have survived without his support. a friend like him is a very rare find even if he blackmails me sometimes... he hasn't betrayed my trust (yet). and he promises not to.

doms, thanks for everything! ^_^

really

To really love a woman
To understand her
You gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought
See every dream
And give her wings when she wants to fly

And when you find yourself
Lying helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s the one
She needs somebody
To tell her that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman

To really love a woman
Let her hold you
Do you know how she needs to be touched ?
You gotta breathe her
Really taste her
To you can feel her in your blood
Then when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s the one
She needs somebody
To tell her that you’ll always be together
So tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman

You got to give her some faith
Hold her tight
A little tenderness
You gotta treat her right
She’ll be there for you
Taking good care of you
You really gotta love your woman

And when you find yourself
Lying helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman
You tell her that she’s the one
She needs somebody
To tell her that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman
Just tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman
Just tell me have you ever really
Really really ever loved a woman.

[Bryan Adams]

i love chris! ^_^ he sang that song earlier on american idol. it was awesome! but this post is not about him... "have you ever really loved a woman?" reminds me of my elder bro. he dedicated that song to his first (ex)girlfriend. i'm dead if he'll learn about this. but i love the risk. lol.

grey's anatomy came after. meredith's mom in the series suffers from alzheimer's. she can remember her scrub nurse, who worked with her for 8 years, but not her daughter. it's outrageous! i mentioned in the previous post that the show makes me think of my brother. i hope the day won't come that he would be like the nurse who chose to spend her last days in the hospital or the mother who forgot her family but remember those she worked with. both women's lives were centered on their practice. i think that's just sad.

the trade

Trading My Sorrows
Darrell Evans

I'm trading my sorrow
I'm trading my shame
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

I'm trading my sickness
I'm trading my pain
I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord

And we say yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord Amen

I'm pressed but not crushed
persecuted not abandoned
Struck down but not destroyed
I'm blessed beyond the curse for His promise will endure
And His joy's gonna be my strength

Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning

the space between

Dave Matthews Band

You cannot quit me so quickly
There's no hope in you for me
No corner you could squeeze me
But I got all the time for you, love

The Space Between
The tears we cry
Is the laughter keeps us coming back for more

The Space Between
The wicked lies we tell
And hope to keep safe from the pain
But will I hold you again?

These fickle, fuddled words confuse me
Like 'Will it rain today?'
Waste the hours with talking, talking
These twisted games we're playing
We're strange allies With warring hearts
What wild-eyed beast you be

The Space Between
The wicked lies we tell
And hope to keep safe from the pain
Will I hold you again?
Will I hold...

Look at us spinning out in
The madness of a roller coaster
You know you went off like a devil
In a church in the middle of a crowded room
All we can do, my love
Is hope we don't take this ship down

The Space Between
Where you're smiling high
Is where you'll find me if I get to go The Space Between
The bullets in our firefight
Is where I'll be hiding, waiting for you
The rain that falls
Splash in your heart
Ran like sadness down the window into...

The Space Between Our wicked lies
Is where we hope to keep safe from pain
Take my hand
'Cause we're walking out of here Oh, right out of here
Love is all we need here

The Space Between
What's wrong and right
Is where you'll find me hiding, waiting for you
The Space Between Your heart and mine
Is the space we'll fill with time

The Space Between...

i discovered this song because of my sister's blog. it's really catchy and it reminds me of the reason i stayed in my course. the joy it brings surapasses the pain. it is worth every sacrifice of skipped meals and sleepless nights. not having submitted the mp isn't as depressing as i expected it to be. it turns out that sir kenneth emailed the class to inform us that we merit a zero instead of sir sanjay's five and he's even giving us an optional requirement. i never expected kindness. just when i was pondering telling my mom i was going to drop the subject, the good news came. praise Jesus! ^_^ thanks to all my prayer warriors!

A Long December

by Counting Crows

A long December and there’s reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can’t remember the last thing you said as you were leavin’
Now the days go by so fast

And it’s one more day up in the canyons
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
If you think that I could be forgiven... I wish you would

The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it’s all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl

And it’s one more day up in the canyons
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California... I think you should

Drove up to the Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower,
Makes you talk a little lower about the things you could not show her

And it’s been a long December and there’s no reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better that the last
I can’t remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass

And it’s one more day up in the canyon
And it’s one more night in Hollywood
It’s been so long since I’ve seen the ocean... I guess I should

The Steward of Gondor

Home is behind
The world is ahead.
And there are many paths to tread
Thru shadow to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadows, cloud and shade.
All shall fade.
All shall fade.

cheeseburger

Veggie Tales - His Cheeseburger

He said to her,"I'd like a cheeseburger and I may like a
milkshake as well"
She said to him, "I can't give you either"
He said, "Isn't this this Burger Bell?"
She said," Yes it is but we're closed now but we open tomorrow
at 10"
He said, " I am extremely hungry but I guess I can wait until
then"

'Coz you're his cheeseburger
His yummy cheeseburger
He'll wait for yo-u
He will wait for yo-u
Oh, you are his cheeseburger
His tasty cheeseburger
He'll wait for yo-u
Oh he will wait for you

He stayed at the drive-thru till sunrise
He may have dozed off once or twice
When he spotted a billboard for Denny's-
Bacon and Eggs for half price
How could he resist such an offer?
He really needed something to munch
Cheeseburger please do not get angry (Don't get angry)
He'll eat and be back here for lunch

'Coz you're his cheeseburger
His precious cheeseburger
Be back for yo-u
He'll be back for yo-u
Won't be so long cheeseburger
Oh lovely cheeseburger
Be back for yo-u
Oh he'll be back for you

Because he loves you cheeseburger with all his heart
And there ain't nothin gonna tear you tw-o apart
and if the world suddenly ran out of cheese
he would get down on his hands and knees
to see if someone accidently dropped some cheese in the dirt
and he would wash it off for you
wipe it off for you
Clean that dirty cheese off JUST FOR YOU!!!!!

You are his cheeeeeesebuuuurrrrrgerrrrrrrrr

why did he have to compromise and settle for something half the price? was he too weak to wait for his cheeseburger? =( is there a lesson behind the story?

what happens next?

i may not be fully functional these days, but i'm learning a thing or two. i had questions regarding God's time. the answer? do not rush ahead of God but wait on Him. the right thing at the wrong time is still the wrong thing. basically, it's about being still and knowing that He is God. surrender your circumstances and desires to the Lord and trust His plans. it took me almost a month for things to sink in. i am thankful for His grace. i could never do everything on my own. i am so thankful for my family. where would i be without them?

i have another question...what happens next? i've been playing switchfoot's "dare you to move" over and over in my head as i was walking home from class. by the time i reached the dorm, i realized the lyrics held the answer. actually, it's in the title... =p but you need to analyze more than the chorus to grasp the meaning. go ahead.

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone's here
Everyone's here
Everybody's watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next
What happens next

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before

Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
Tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here

I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened
Today never happened before

Do you sleep?

Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
Do you sleep, do you count sheep anymore?
Do you sleep anymore?
Do you take plight on my tongue like lead?
Do you fall gracefully into bed anymore?
I saw you as you walked across my room.
You looked out the window, you looked at the moon.
And you sat on the corner of my bed, and
You smoked with the ghost in the back of my head.
And I don’t know, and I don’t care
If I ever will see you again.
I don’t know, and I don’t care
If I ever will be there.
Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
Do you sleep, do you keep me anymore?
You kick my foot under the table,
I kick you back;
I can’t say I’m able to
Stand for you or
Fall for you ever again.
Wish for a perfect setting?
Wishing that I am letting you
Take me where you want me
All over again?
You can’t give yourself absolutely to someone else.
And I don’t know, and I don’t care
If I ever will see you again.
I don’t know, and I don’t care
If I ever will be there.
I saw you as you walked across my room.
You looked out the window, you looked at the moon.
And you sat on the corner of my bed, and
You smoked with the ghost in the back of my head.
Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
Do you sleep, do you count sheep anymore?
Do you sleep anymore?
I don’t know, and I don’t care
If I ever will be there.
Will be there?

Wake me up when september ends

Green Day

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

ring out the bells again
like we did when spring began
wake me up when september ends

here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when september ends

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends
wake me up when september ends

Held
Natalie Grant

Two months is too little.
They let him go.
They had no sudden healing.
To think that providence would
Take a child from his mother while she prays
Is appalling.

Who told us we'd be rescued?
What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?
We're asking why this happens
To us who have died to live?
It's unfair.

This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.

This hand is bitterness.
We want to taste it, let the hatred know our sorrow.
The wise hands opens slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow.

This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.

If hope is born of suffering,
If this is only the beginning,
Can we not wait for one hour watching for our Savior?

This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.

this is my prayer...

thank You, Jesus. broken i come for Your use. i trust Your plans for my life. fragile i am, but in You i am strong. thank You for giving me a spirit of power through the Holy Spirit. in everything i do, i hope to glorify You. thank You for my roommies, for their patience in dealing with someone as stubborn as i. Lord, may i just praise you all of my days. AMEN.

Worlds Apart

Jars of Clay

I am the only one to blame for this
Somehow it all adds up the same
Soaring on the wings of selfish pride
I flew too high and like Icarus I collide
With a world I try so hard to leave behind
To rid myself of all but love
to give and die

To turn away and not become
Another nail to pierce the skin of one who loves
more deeply than the oceans,
more abundant than the tear
Of a world embracing every heartache

Can I be the one to sacrifice
Or grip the spear and watch the blood and water flow

To love you - take my world apart
To need you - I am on my knees
To love you - take my world apart
To need you - broken on my knees

All said and done I stand alone
Amongst remains of a life I should not own
It takes all I am to believe
In the mercy that covers me

Did you really have to die for me?
All I am for all you are
Because what I need and what I believe are worlds apart

I look beyond the empty cross
forgetting what my life has cost
and wipe away the crimson stains
and dull the nails that still remain
More and more I need you now,
I owe you more each passing hour
the battle between grace and pride
I gave up not so long ago
So steal my heart and take the pain
and wash the feet and cleanse my pride
take the selfish, take the weak,
and all the things I cannot hide
take the beauty, take my tears
the sin-soaked heart and make it yours
take my world all apart
take it now, take it now

and serve the ones that I despise
speak the words I can't deny
watch the world I used to love
fall to dust and thrown away

I look beyond the empty cross
forgetting what my life has cost
so wipe away the crimson stains
and dull the nails that still remain
so steal my heart and take the pain
take the selfish, take the weak
and all the things I cannot hide
take the beauty, take my tears
take my world apart, take my world apart
I pray, I pray, I pray
take my world apart

When Love Takes You in
Steven Curtis Chapman

I know you’ve heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You’ve heard about a place called home
But there doesn’t seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you’re sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever
cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

arclight

shine like an arclight
sing like a bird might sing
when he was higher than heaven
higher than every other thing
some kind of arclight
sparks in the street
I know that you've no answers
all I need is for you to shine

shine like an arclight
like I want you to shine
I know that you've nobody
and I know that you're not mine
but the light that you are
and the light you could be
is the only thing I want
the only light I can see

you don't have to know the words
and you don't have to know the rules

you just shine in the morning like the sun
burn like a candle in the night
shine like a book that's never been read
burn like a saint who knows he's right
shine like a shard of glass
on the forest ground
when you shine you know
you burn me down

well I don't wear no chains
I've got no cross to bear
and I'm as free as the wind
I am as free as the air
I am as free as the old
I am as cold as the dawn
and I'm as lost as you are
you are my only law

you don't have to know the words
and you don't have to know the rules
and you never had to speak
you never had to speak, oh no, oh no, oh no
you never had to speak
you never had to speak, oh no, oh no, oh no

you just shine in the morning like the sun
burn like a candle in the night
shine like a book that's never been read
burn like a saint who knows he's right
shine like a shard of glass
on the forest ground
when you shine you know
you burn me

shine in the morning like the sun
burn like a candle in the night
shine like a book that's never been read
burn like a saint who knows he's right
shine like a shard of glass
on the forest ground
when you shine you know
you burn me down

down, down, down
you burn me down

the fat lady sings

counting crows

All your love is just a dream dream dream
I dreamt I saw you walking up a hillside in the snow
Casting shadows on the winter sky as you stood there
counting crows
One for sorrow Two for joy
Three for girls and four for boys
Five for silver Six for gold and
seven for a secret never to be told
There's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
When you open up your wings to speak
I wish you'd let me in

You Don't Love Me Anymore by Weird Al Yankovic

We've been together for so very long
But now things are changing, oh I wonder what's wrong?
Seems you don't want me around
The passion is gone and the flame's died down

I guess I lost a little bit of self-esteem
That time that you made it with the whole hockey team
You used to think I was nice
Now you tell all your friends that I'm the Antichrist

Oh, why did you disconnect the breaks on my car?
That kind of thing is hard to ignore
Got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore

I knew that we were having problems when
You put those piranhas in my bathtub again
You're still the light of my life
Oh darling, I'm beggin', won't you put down that knife?

You know, I even think it's kinda cute the way
You poison my coffee just a little each day
I still remember the way that you laughed
When you pushed me down that elevator shaft

Oh, if you don't mind me asking, what's this poisonous cobra
Doing in my underwear drawer?
Sometime I get to thinking you don't love me any more

You slammed my face down on the barbecue grill
Now my scars are all healing, but my heart never will
You set my house on fire
You pulled out my chest hairs with an old pair of pliers

Oh, you think that I'm ugly and you say that I'm cheap
You shaved off my eyebrows while I was asleep
You drilled a hole in my head
Then you dumped me in a drainage ditch and left me for dead

Oh, you know this really isn't like you at all
You never acted this way before
Honey, something tells me you don't love me any more, oh no no
Got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore

Part of that World

Look at this stuffLil_mermaid
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has ev'rything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Lookin' around here you'd think
Sure
She's got everything

I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs?
I got twenty
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em dancin'
Walkin' around on those
Whad'ya call 'em?
Oh - feet
Flippin' your fins you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumpin', dancin'
Strollin' along down a
What's that word again?
Street
Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wanderin' free
Wish I could be
Part of that world

What would I give
If I could live
Outta these waters?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Warm on the sand?
Betcha on land
They understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters
Bright young women
Sick o' swimmin'
Ready to stand

And I'm ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a fire and why does it
What's the word? Burn?

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that shore up above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

Fast Car

Tracy Chapman

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere

Anyplace is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove

You got a fast car
And I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
We won't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living

You see my old man's got a problem
He live with the bottle that's the way it is
He says his body's too old for working
I say his body's too young to look like his
My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so we can fly away
We gotta make a decision
We leave tonight or live and die this way

I remember we were driving driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

You got a fast car
And we go cruising to entertain ourselves
You still ain't got a job
And I work in a market as a checkout girl
I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a big house and live in the suburbs
You got a fast car
And I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids
I'd always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans I ain't going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away
You gotta make a decision
You leave tonight or live and die this way

Don't Worry

I called you up all night til mornin’,
Left my house by noon today, and I saw you standing there.
No one spoke, but we both listened.
Heard every word you didn’t say.
And the sunshine’s all around us,
Smells like summer’s on the way, and I saw you standing there.
Tell the story of a lifetime,
Tomorrow brings a brand new day.

Don’t worry ’bout today, and the words that you said.
Don’t worry ’bout today, shake the world from your head.
At least for a while.

You see the day keeps getting longer,
But my nights seem longer still, and my tv’s off the air.
Watching repeats on my ceiling,
Another hour left to kill.

Have You Seen Me Lately?

Counting Crows

Get away from me
Get away from me
This isn't gonna be easy,
but I don't need you believe me
Yeah you got a piece of me,
but it's just a little piece of me

I don't need anyone these days
I feel like I'm fading away
Like sometimes when I hear myself on the radio

Have you seen me lately?
Have you seen me lately?
Have you seen me lately?

I was out on the radio
Starting to change somewhere out in America
It's raining
Could you tell me one thing you remember about me
Remember about me

I remember me
All the little things that make up a memory

She said she loved to watch me sleep
She says, It's the breathing
It's the breathing in and out and in and out

Have you seen me lately?
Have you seen me lately?
Have you seen me lately?

I was out on the radio
Starting to change somewhere out in America
It's raining
Could you tell me one thing you remember about me?
Remember about me
Remember about me

You know I thought someone would notice
I thought somebody would say something if I was missing
Well can't you see me?
Come on color me in
Come on color me in
Come on, Come on, Come on
Give me a blue rain
Give me a black sky
Give me your [brown] eyes
Just give me your white skin
Give me your white skin
Give me your white skin

I was out on the radio
Starting to change somewhere out in America
It's raining
Could you tell me one thing you remember about me?
Just one thing you Remember about me
Just one thing you Remember about me
one thing you remember about me
Remember about me

Inside Your Heaven

Bo Bice

I've been down
now I'm blessed
I felt a revelation coming around
I guess its right,
it's so amazing
everytime I see you I'm alive
you're all I've got
you lift me up
the sun and the moonlight
all my dreams are in your eyes

I wanna be inside your heaven
take me to the place you cry from
where the storm blows your way
I wanna be earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathin' in
A soothin' wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

When minutes turn to days
and years When mountains fall,
I'll still be here
holdin you until the day I die
and I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
Where the storm blows your way

I wanna be inside your heaven
take me to the place you cry from
where the storm blows your way
I wanna be earth that holds you
every bit of air you're breathin' in
a soothin' wind
I wanna be inside your heaven
oh yes I do
I wanna be inside your heaven

Find Me Here
Speak To Me

I want to feel You
I need to hear You
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place where I find peace again.

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.
You are the light to my soul.
You are my purpose...You're everything.

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

You calm the storms, and You give me rest.
You hold me in your hands, You won't let me fall.
You steal my heart, and You take my breath away.
Would You take me in? Take me deeper now?

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me how could it be any better than this?
And how can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would you tell me how could it be any better than this?

Cause You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, You're all I need
You're everything, everything.
You're all I want, You're all I need.
You're everything, everything
You're all I want, You're all I need, You're everything, everything.

And How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me how could it be any better than this?
How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me how could it be any better than this?

How can I stand here with You and not be moved by You?
Would You tell me how could it be any better than this?

Would You tell me how could it be any better than this?

Loving Arms

Dixie Chicks

If you could see me now
The one who said that she’d rather roam
The one who said she’d rather be alone
If you could only see me now

If I could hold you now
Just for a moment, if I could really make you mine
Just for a while, turn back the hands of time
If I could only hold you now

I’ve been too long in the wind
Too long in the rain
Taking any comfort that I can
Looking back and longing for
The freedom of my chains
And lying in your loving arms again

If you could hear me now
Singing somewhere through the lonely nights
Dreaming of the arms that held me tight
If you could only hear me now

I’ve been too long in the wind
Too long in the rain
Taking any comfort that I can
Looking back and longing for
The freedom of my chains
And lying in your loving arms again
I can almost feel your loving arms again

What day is it
And in what month
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
Nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you

All of the things that I want to say
Just aren't coming out right
I'm tripping on words, you got my head spinning
I don't know where to go from here

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't why I can't keep my eyes off you

Something about you now
I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of

You and me and all of the people
With nothing to do nothin to prove and
It's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you

What day is it

The Blower's Daughter

Damien RiceCloserpubh

And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is (he has)
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

And so it is (he has)
Just like you said it should be
We'll both forget the breeze
Most of the time
And so it is (he has)
The colder water
The blower's daughter
The pupil in denial

I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off of you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes off you
I can't take my eyes...

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off of you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind off you
I can't take my mind...
My mind...my mind...

Alive

Jennifer Lopez

Time
Goes, slowly now, in my life
Fear, no more, of what, I'm not sure
Searching to feel your soul,
The strength to stand alone
The power of not knowing, and letting go...

I guess I've found my way
It's simple when it's right
Feeling lucky just be here, tonight
And happy, Just to be me,
And be...Alive

Love
In and out, of my, my heart
And though life,
can be strange, I can't, be afraid
Searching to feel your soul,
The strength to stand alone,
The power of not knowing and letting go.

I guess I've found my way,
It's simple when it's right.
Feeling lucky just to be here, tonight
And happy, just to be me,
And be...Alive

I guess I've found my way,
It's simple when it's right.
Feeling lucky just to be here, tonight
And happy, just to be me,

Ascribe greatness
Ascribe greatness
Ascribe greatness to the Rock so high

You are a sanctuary
A shelter and a shade from the heat of the day
You are a hiding place
A tower and a refuge from the storm and the rain
My rock and foundation
You have become my salvation

razel asked me to read Psalm 71.  it has been a great comfort to me.  God's plans will unveil and prevail.  as they say, God is good all the time.  all the time.

Place in This World

Michael W. Smith

The wind is moving
But I am standing still
A life of pages
Waiting to be filled
A heart that’s hopeful
A head that’s full of dreams
But this becoming
Is harder than it seems
Feels like i’m...

Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world

If there are millions
Down on their knees
Among the many
Can you still hear me
Hear me asking
Where do I belong
Is there a vision
That I can call my own
Show me i’m...

Looking for a reason
Roaming through the night to find
My place in this world
My place in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need your light to help me find
My place in this world
My place in this world

* hanggang makatulog ka

Dramachine

Sugarfree

Ayaw na nyang bumangon
Sa kama lang maghapon
Mukha nyay parang langit

Dahan-dahan puso nyay bumibigay

Lahat tayoy nasasaktan
Madalas naiiwanan
Di alam kung bakit ba nangyayari yan
Pero wag kang magpapadala
Kung madapa bumangon ka
Buhay moy tuloy pa rin
Wag kang tumulad sa akin

Habang bumabaha ng luha
Di ko na napupuna
Na mayron pang saysay ang buhay
Hinding hindi ko napapansin
Kung umaandar ang aking dramachine
Dramachine

ngek!

i stumbled upon a really hilarious song... lol. can't let this chance to share it with you pass. i wonder who wrote it... interesting!

Yeah
we are one fire,
we have desires,
but one is that way,
one backstreet boy is gay,
but we don't want to be mean
since now he's a queen
don't ask please
which backstreet boy is gay,
tell me who?
ain't saying that it's AJ,
tell me who?
ain't saying that it's Howie
tell me who,
i never wanna hear you say,
which Backstreet boy is gay

now i can see him,
he's in women's clothes,
but he don't need an IUD, yeah
he likes Village People,
he's playing croquet,
his dog is a pekinese

he is on fire,
his back perspires
won't say, won't say won't say,
WHO'S GAY?!

he's always sayin,
ain't nothing but a butt ache
ain't nothin but a fruitcake
i never wanna hear you say (i don't wanna hear you say)
which one of us is gay,
tell me who?
ain't sayin that it's Brian,
WHY tell me who?
ain't sayin if it's Kevin,
tell me who,
he's bakin up a souffle,
which backstret boy is gay....

OK we're ALL gay

not again

I heard from a friend today and
[He] said you were in town
Suddenly the memories came back
To me in my mind

How can i be strong i've asked myself
Time and time i've said
That i'll never fall in love with you
Again

A wounded heart you gave,
My soul you took away
Good intentions you had many,
I know you did
I come from a place that hurts,
God knows how i've cried
And i never want to return
Never fall again

...

I've come too close to happiness,
To have it swept away
Don't think i can take the pain
No never fall again

...
